Our Submission Process

You Contact Us

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already been to our write for us page. If not, head on over there to tell us a little bit about yourself and what ideas/enggirlproblems you would like to write about.

We Contact You

After you fill out the contact form, we will get back to you as soon as we can! Since we both have full-time engineering jobs, this may not be right away but we do promise to respond.

We will probably ask you some more questions about your experiences and generally get to know you better. We’ve always found that talking to each other helps flesh out ideas and further develop an article. From this conversation, we would mainly be looking to establish topic and type of article.

Timelines

Once everyone is clear on what topic you’re tackling, we’ll set some timelines with you because we are schedule people and deadlines help keep us on track. We will focus on when we can expect a draft, when we can edit that draft and get it back to you (bearing in mind that this might include multiple iterations), when we can expect the final copy, and when you can see it up on the website.

Editing Process

We edit collaboratively using Google docs and will provide suggestions in terms of style/format/grammar until everyone is happy with the end result.

We will also get your input on photos. Right now our website is set up with thumbnail photos for each article, in addition to the photos that we post in the article itself and the photos we use on social media. If you have some in mind, great. If not, we can help with that.

Enggirlrich?

enggirlfamous?

Unfortunately, running a blog does not mean that we roll in dollar dollar bills, so we aren’t able to provide you with monetary gain. However, we are happy to use this platform to link to your blog, website, LinkedIn, or other space on the internet that promotes you and your projects. During the submission process, we will ask you to submit a photo of yourself and a brief bio so that readers can find you on our contributors page.

Once the article is live, we will be promoting it via Instagram and Twitter. We will happily use these channels to link back to you and your work. We hope that you’ll be willing to share the love and spread the article as well.
